Yesterday we spent the afternoon with Luisa. She was pretty quiet (not out of the norm), but was happy to see all of us. We talked with her doctor yesterday and she said that the bone has not been replaced in her head yet because there is an infection in her original incision. The doctors want to make sure that the infection is completely gone before they open her up and insert the rest of her cranium. They performed an MRI on her to make sure that the infection had not spread to her bone, they did not see any evidence of this but did see a pocket of some kind of fluid on the side of her head. To rule out any kind of puss in her head they are going to perform a nuclear medical test. I saw the swelling over Christmas on the side of her head and felt like it was smaller yesterday than a few weeks ago, so hopefully it is just water and her body is absorbing it.
In other news... Dad is putting a plan together to transfer mom to TIRR (Texas Institute of Research and Rehabilitation). We had hoped to move her there all along, and since they are not putting her bone back in her head-we are going to move ahead with our plan. The move will hopefully happen late next week. We will keep you posted as new info comes in regarding this issue.
Thank you for your prayers and support.

**The pictures are confusing me, I can't remember which ones I have posted before. So if this has been posted before sorry for the boring repost. Pic taken 2/2007 after Ava's baptism.

Good to hear all the plans are going into place. Luisa, how special you must feel to know how incredibly awesome your family is. It's hard to imagine how much has happened over the last couple of months and how much progress you have made Luisa. Miss you dearly and can't wait to visit with you. Everyone at Women's and Children's sends their love.
Have a good weekend,
Nichole
PS - Robin, The pics are great. If you post duplicate pics, they are still wonderful to look at. Great work.
Yahoo Lu, back in Houston just in time for Rodeo. Having been here in the Bayou City for some time I feel I should be excited about Rodeo but have yet to acquire an appreciation for that event. In any case I think I have found the very best sweet potatoes on earth at Mamas Oven. I'll be welcoming you to Houston with some.
Mention TIRR here and people speak of it with reverence. In fact Matt has a friend whose mother was there last year because of a stroke and is perfectly fine today. Houston is truly the epicenter of medical innovation in the south and it is wonderful that you are headed here.
Now do you want the meatloaf with your taters or somthered porkchops and greens? I deliver.
Love and prayers, Susan
Robin,
I read your postings each day and draw inspiration from your words and the strength Luisa is exhibiting. It’s good to see Luisa making progress, getting better each day. With so much going on in you guys lives it came to mind that this time of year is one of Luisa’s favorite, it’s Mardi Gras in NOLA. I know how much she enjoys the electric atmosphere of parades. With everyone’s love, prayers, and dedication you guys will get her back on St. Charles Av. soon.
Also, reading your daily update so much reminds me of grandma’s “Thought For The Day” she wrote and left on the mirror for us to read when I was a child. I guess the apple doesn’t fall very far from the cart. You are doing a wonderful job, thank you.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Luisa. God bless you and the gang
Ray Ray
