Pleasant Weekend

Luisa has had a good weekend. She had a few visitors this weekend-her lifelong friend Jeanne went up and saw her for the first time since she was in ICU. I know that she was so happy to see mom looking like mom. When I spole to her yesterday I told her I was shopping and asked if she was ready to get out there and spend some money, she said "Oh yeah!"

Today they were late bringing her tray of lunch to her and she looked at dad and said, "What's taking them so long?" Dad said that she seems to understand most conversations as people are having them around her. Today, Mrs. Cathy, Mr. John, Aunt Jan and Van were all talking about old times and she was laughing with them enjoying the stories.

I found this online today, if you have a chance, check it out. It is an amazing story about a man with a brain injury.

As someone told me right after the accident, we are all in this life together.

Dear Robin, Mr.Charlie and Family,
I read the blog everyday and I am so happy that your mom is doing so well. It reminds me to be grateful for everyday, and to not take family or friends for granted. Thanks for taking the time to keep so many people informed. I will keep all of you in my prayers! (Thanks for the instructions on how to comment or I would have never figured it out.I tried to email you a few weeks ago but I am not sure you got it. Take Care.

How weird that you found this article online. This story was just on 60 Minutes about two or three weeks ago...amazing story!

Glad Luisa had such a great weekend!

Robin,
I just read the online article that you mentioned in the blog and I am 99% positive that I have met this woman!!! I went to a brian injury course in May in Chicago and she spoke to our group. It sounds just like her story (esp. if her husband was at the Rehab Institute of Chicago at one point). She is an amazing lady! I am so happy that her story is out (if this is the family that I am thinking about)!
Anyway, sending many thoughts and prayers your way!!
Much Love,
Mer
