This morning the physical therapists went in to work with my mom again. Dad did not see them but the nurse told him that the pt's said mom seemed to have more strength than yesterday. At the first visit of the day she was awake (more than she has been so far) but is still looks confused. The second visit she was more drousy, but a few times lifted her left hand all the way up to her face-dad said it is like she is trying to tell them something (if I know the both of them she's saying "Charles, you're talking too loud!"
Thank you for the kind messages and prayers, I have found a place that will turn this blog into a book, what a great keepsake for our Lola.

I've had the pleasure of working with Luisa for the past several years at WCH. We always enjoyed sharing updates and pictures of our grandchildren and family. You all have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly since the accident, and I check for updates every day. It's had been wonderful to hear of her progress. You all remain in my prayers.....

My sister, Theresa, graduated with Luisa from Cabrini. They would often walk to school together and share many laughs. Theresa recently lost her battle with Uterine Cancer. I know she is looking over her friend. I've been in touch with Patricia C. Hickman, another Cabrini classmate & friend.
She shared many wonderful stories about Luisa and their recent reunions. She is praying for all of you, as am I.
The pictures and daily updates are terrific! Thanks.
I worked with Mrs.Luisa at Women's and Childrens for three years. This was my first real job as a nurse and she took me in and taught me the ropes. I would tell all of my friends she was like my mom at work. Chaz and my husband Mike went to STM together so we shared stories of what was going on in their group of friends or the latest parties and gossip. She often new what Chaz had planned for the weekend before she spoke with him.I think of all of you everyday and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Robin,
I saw your mom last Wednesday. Billy & I had a good visit with your dad, too! I thought she looked great that day compared to the report my mom & dad (Charles & Jo Ann) gave me the Friday right after the accident. I can only imagine how great she looks now. I even had one of the neurosurgery residents I know from Children's check in on her for me. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you!!!!!! Please let us know if we can do anything. We told your dad also. It took me a while to figure out how to send this message (I don't do the computer very much)

Charlotte, Billy, Lindsay & Logan
She looks like herself again! I went up at 5:00. I hadn't seen her since Sunday night. There is no swelling at all. We might need to check your dad in too. He told your mom that "Leslie" was here to see her and that Eva and Brad were coming tomorrow. He must be just as tired as your mom is after PT. You are going to love what you see tomorrow when you get in town.
Robin:
With all that you have going on we really appreciate you updating this blog so often. It is wonderful to read about your mom getting better every single day. We look forward to hearing more good news. The entire Ripoll/Pippins family remains in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Kristin and Ryan
This is from my mom. She cannot figure out how to post a blog.
Robin, I have been checking the blog everyday . Aunt Irma continues to ask about her from her own hospital bed. My classes continue to pray for her and ask for updates everyday.
With so many people cheering her on surely she will regain all of her faculties and become the Luisa we all know and love.
It is great to know that your Dad retains his sense of humor.

We were blessed to meet Luisa when our grandbaby was in NICU at Womans & Children's in Lafayette; Luisa has become a special friend as well. She has been in our thoughts and prayers, and the prayers of many at St. Luke's in Baton Rouge. Please give her a hug from the Stutes and Williams families. Take care, Becky Williams
To my other family---
This is the first time that I have been able to successfully pull up the blog. What a wonderful gift and peaceful place of healing, memories, and love. I am looking forward to the day when we can all go out dancing at Tipitina's together!
Mis Louisa--I am so happy to hear that you are eating solid foods again because I booked a chef's table at Commander's palace for you this April and you are going to have a blast!!! Get ready, girl! We are going to treat you like a queen!!
May the spirit of the holidays be with you all....oh- and the spirit of the Tigers!
I love you all so much!
