Milestone

I think it is safe to say that mom has had probably several dozen milestones in just two weeks. This morning my dad was walking in her room for the first visit and the rehab doctor stopped him and said "Man what a difference a day makes." He had no idea what he was talking about and then he walked into the room and Lu was sitting up on the edge of the bed with 2 physical therapists. Of course, the pt's were doing most of the work, but if you would have told us that after only 2 weeks mom would be 1. awake and 2. sitting at the edge of her bed we would have probably laughed.

We are guessing her MRI came back OK because the neck brace is now off.

It looks like mom will be moving to Touro some time this week-we'll keep you posted.

For those curious folks out there, we took this picture in Destin 2 years ago this summer. My mom's brother and his family are in it with us-I felt like I needed to have them here because they have been with us every step of the way-I can not begin to articulate how grateful we are to these 4 people.

Best,
Ripoll's and Pippins

Robin,
That is great news. I spoke to your dad this morning on his way to the hospital before he had seen her. Thanks for keeping us all updated. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Robin, I have worked with your mom at WCH in Lafayette for over ten years. She has always meant so much to me. I was devastated to hear of her accident. I know your mom's love of life and family will get her through this. She is a fighter. She is already making amazing progress!! I have heard lots of stories about you and Chaz. I loved talking to your mom about my son. If there is anything we can do for yall please let the crew in the NICU know. We are all fighting with all of you!!!!

What a wonderful update. I too have worked with Luisa for about 13 years in NICU at WCH. She is an amazing woman. As Ms. Lydia has previously said, a co-worker organized a prayer service today at the hospital. It was a very lovely service with a wonderful turnout. It was as beautiful as Luisa is. Thanks for keeping everyone updated. Our prayers will continue each and every day for the entire family.
Please send Luisa my love,
Nichole Nelson

Dear Robin and Family:
You do not know me but I am a friend of Lisa in Lake Jackson, Tx. Lisa called me when your Mom had the accident and I have been praying since day one. Lisa sent me the blog and I find myself going there every morning with anticipation to see what miracle God has performed for Luisa each day. What a testimony your Mom has to share and I can't wait for that day! The miracles that you see daily reveal how God's hand is orchestrating her recovery. Thank you for sharing your Mom's milestones with praying partners.

God Bless,
Donna in Lake Jackson, TX
