Did You Just Say That?

Today Luisa was awake for almost the whole day. Sunday's are a rest day so we think that weekends are going to be the times we are able to visit with her while she is awake for now. We talked for quite a while today, I asked her if she remembered different stories and people and to most of my non-stop talking. We laughed a bit over an article that one of her favorite columnist wrote for the Times Picayune today. Her right arm, that she had not moved since the accident, is starting to move a little bit-nice to see for sure.

Her nurse, Jennylin, went to adjust her tonight and she completely mouthed "Dammit". I gave her a hard time for saying it, it was so funny. So, so far she has said "hey" a few times and "dammit" twice-we will take any words right now, even curse words.

If anyone is wondering how she looks physically, she looks amazing. Her nurse practitioner came in and commented on how beautiful she is today-and she really is. At one point today we put her glasses on and she was just lying in the bed quietly-looking just like our wife, mom and Lola.

Hope you have a wonderful tomorrow.

Dear Robin,
Luisa's progress the last few days has been wonderful. It seems her memory is good, and she gets stronger every day. Be sure to tell her her fellow "oldies but goodies" at WCH are thinking of her every day, and keep her and all her family in our prayers.

There's my little Virgo friend! Those darn nurses are in your personal space aren't they :) I love you so very much and can't wait for the positive report each day! I can't wait to see your beautiful face again over Christmas.

Hurry home, Rob! I miss you, Aves and Andrew! Give Charlie Ripoll a big hug for me and tell him to get some rest.

I love you all so much and miss you all with all of my heart. My prayers are constant.

Dear Robin and family,

I am so happy for you all that your Mom has been responding so well and at such a quick pace. Good for her. You let her say WHATEVER she wants. After all, she deserves it.

This blog has been so wonderful. With the pictures and updates, it makes me feel like I haven't missed the last 15 years of the Ripoll's life. I think you get a lot of your ability from your Dad. He always told us the most wonderful humorious stories. Thank you, thank you so much.

Love and prayers to all.

That's funny about her saying "dammit," but I agree with Jennifer Dugas. Let her say whatever. At least it will be some comic relief wondering what will come out of her mouth next!
